An Expression of Love: Dominikanos virtually celebrates Teachers’ Day

By: Chloe S. Lacandola / The Dominican Gazette

“Students from the Dominican College of Tarlac (DCT) are filled with gratitude as they celebrate Teachers' Day virtually on October 5, 2021, to commemorate teachers' passion and dedication in imparting knowledge to Dominikanos.

There are various ways to celebrate. The Senior High School (SHS) students celebrated Teachers’ Day by sending messages to their teachers to show their wishes and heartfelt gratitude for their hard work.

SHS Supreme Student Government (SSG), led by their adviser, Ms. Lucille Maye D. Arce, and Dominican Multimedia and Integrated Network Organization (DOMINO), led by Mr. Feliciano T. Mungcal, took a big part in celebrating Teachers’ Day.

Furthermore, the SHS-SSG aired their first ever episode of a podcast entitled “NIGHT SHIFT: A Teachers’ Day Special” as a way of thanking everyone, especially the teachers and facilitators, for all of their efforts and sacrifices despite the COVID-19 pandemic..

They have gathered all the warm messages of students for their facilitators and were relayed during the podcast by the hosts: Ms. Czarina Lumapas (HUMSS 12 Governor), Mr. Jhan Ford Laxamana (ABM 12 Governor), Ms. Gail Tanglao (ABM 11 Governor), and Mr. Cire Diaz (STEM 11 Governor).

On the other hand, DOMINO had encouraged the Dominikanos to greet their teachers in a creative way as an appreciation. They can submit their works in the form of a photo, video, or animation content. Some of the students have sent their outputs through them and were posted on their official Facebook page.

Despite the ongoing global pandemic, the schools are still closed, but it did not stop the Dominikanos from celebrating the said event this school year.
